Course Improvements by Our Dedicated Volunteers
Our Friday volunteer crew has been hard at work this week making valuable improvements to the course. The team focused their efforts on the 6th hole, where they planted several new trees to enhance the playing experience and natural beauty of the area.
The project involved replacing some older trees with new non-invasive rooting plants, a thoughtful choice that will protect the course infrastructure while maintaining the landscape’s appeal. Thanks to Pat at Mt Dyrring Wholesale Nursery for providing expert advice and competitive pricing on the new plantings. Their local knowledge and support made the project both successful and cost-effective.
Safety Upgrades on Course Bridges
In addition to the landscaping work, the crew tackled a practical safety issue that’s been causing headaches for golfers. They’ve installed red protective cappings on the bridge barriers to prevent cart tyres from getting damaged. If you’ve experienced a busted tyre from the bridge barriers in the past, you’ll be pleased to know this should no longer be a problem.
These red cappings serve a dual purpose – not only do they protect your cart tyres, but they also function as Red Penalty Area markers. It’s a smart solution that addresses both safety and course management in one go.
Thank You to Our Volunteers
We’re incredibly grateful to our Friday volunteer crew for their ongoing dedication to maintaining and improving Singleton Golf Club. Their hard work ensures our course remains in excellent condition for all members and guests to enjoy. Projects like these make a real difference to the playing experience, and it’s wonderful to see our community coming together to care for the club.
